Our antibody tests are manufactured in California and come from the locally-based company WHPM. The strips are the result of a collaboration with DanceSafe founder Emanuel Sferios and were specifically designed for harm reduction purposes (unlike the standard fentanyl urine test strips sold elsewhere).

With a detection limit of 10 ng/ml, they are among the most sensitive test strips on the market. They are also highly selective for fentanyl and its analogues, making them less prone to false positive results by not reacting with other drugs unrelated to fentanyl.

But what is fentanyl anyway? Fentanyl is an extremely potent synthetic opioid, up to 100 times stronger than morphine. It is used clinically for pain relief but also illegally sold, often mixed with or entirely replacing opioids like heroin. However, experiences from the USA, with currently well over 100,000 fatal fentanyl overdoses per year, show that other drugs can also be laced with fentanyl. Due to its extreme potency, consuming fentanyl poses a high risk of life-threatening overdoses. Therefore, it is crucial to test substances for the presence of fentanyl to minimize the risk of unintended intake and deadly consequences.

Through widespread monitoring, we aim to quickly detect the emergence of fentanyl, and each fentanyl test has the potential to save lives! Each antibody strip comes with instructions, but it is strongly recommended to also order dosing spoons to accurately measure the required amount. This prevents many false positive results. The procedure is very simple and involves crushing and mixing your sample, dissolving it in 5ml of water, and then simply dipping the test strip into it.
