Psilocybin BulkQTest – Analyze psilocybin levels accurately in magic mushrooms, truffles, and extracts with the Psilocybin-BulkQTest for our QTest-Photometer

 

We have developed the Psilocybin-BulkQTest specifically for use with the QTest photometer. This kit provides you with enough reagents and components to carry out 25 up to 500 quantitative photometric analyses of the psilocybin and psilocin content in magic mushrooms. Additionally, we have included enough reagents for at least 5 blank measurements. This kit was developed in response to numerous requests, aiming to offer high-precision analysis with a photometer while reducing costs compared to our conventional QTests. We achieved this by using bulk reagents in two bottles. Using a pipette significantly increases accuracy, and with the included standard reaction tubes, the extraction can be centrifuged, greatly simplifying the filtration step. However, we have included enough sterile filters and disposable pipets in case you do not already have this tools.

 

Curious about the strength of your magic mushrooms? Tired of unpredictable trip experiences? The potency of psilocybin-containing mushrooms can vary tremendously between species, varieties, and batches. This is exactly why we developed the Psilocybin QTest, the world’s first scientifically validated do-it-yourself test kit for measuring psilocybin concentrations. With this test, you can easily determine the potency of any batch of dried fungal material in minutes. Results are provided digitally by the QTest-Photometer as a precise milligram amount of psilocybin in a gram of your sample. Simply crush a large amount of mushrooms and test a small sample to know the exact psilocybin concentration of the whole batch.  The scale ranges from 0 to 2.5 % content, covering practically all natural psilocybe mushrooms. If you have even stronger mushrooms, just use half the sample material and double the result.

This test is not suitable for identifying Psilocybin/Psilocin or psilocybin-containing mushrooms. For example: When picking wild mushrooms, there is a risk of confusing or mixing them with the toxic Galerina Maginata, which grows in similar habitats. The QTest does not test for fungal toxins, so it cannot be used for mushroom identification. However for test psilocybin-containing mushrooms, the QTest quantifies the amount of the active substance present.

Psilocybin is not uniformly distributed within mushrooms! Even mushrooms from the same batch can vary significantly in their psilocybin content. To ensure accuracy, it is essential to homogenize the mushroom material thoroughly by using a grinder, sharp knife, or cutting board before conducting the test. The test result will indicate the percentage of psilocybin per gram in the homogenized material.  The total measurement will be presented in terms of psilocybin, encompassing both psilocybin and psilocin.
